Eddie has this flirty nature to him that's hard to read, certainly shouldn't be pointed at Steve, and is very confusing. Steve had been very sexually free before getting bitten, but ever since then it had been hard to trust himself in situations that might rile him up and get him to the point of losing control; even if he never hurt someone, suddenly sprouting ears or a tail in the middle of having sex would be a huge problem.
