( the world was not fair sometimes. eddie knows this all too well, with how long he has had to deal with being bound to the sun, cursed to never feel its rays on his face ever again - at least not without feeling his flesh burn away. he misses going out and exploring whenever he likes, a normal life.
instead, he's a slave to hunger, the smell of copper setting him off and calling to the beast within him. it's an ugly way to live - a dangerous way since he could lose control and kill anyone and everyone he used to care about at any single moment.
at least he has steve, though. or had him because recently he had been nearly mauled by a werewolf, and eddie knows all too well what a death sentence that is on their newly budding relationship. werewolves and vampires don't mix; everyone knows that. the writing is on the wall, and steve hasn't even had his first full moon yet.
eddie knows he should pack his shit up and go, leave before it's too painful to watch steve become his enemy, but he can't just abandon him. not when steve sat there through eddie's death and rebirth. eddie owes it to him to at least see him through this much. )
You're gonna be okay.
( eddie doesn't quite believe those words because eddie doesn't think he will be okay. but steve's needs come before his own, and if steve can push through this, then maybe they will be okay. )
